Tansee Hill, Thorncombe
This scheme, on an allocated green-field site on the edge of the West Dorset village of Thorncombe, was planned to hug the existing development boundary so that it integrated with the existing village.
A vernacular-style street scene which closely matched the local architecture comprised of 9 affordable homes and 24 private houses. These were mainly built in a cottage style using stone together with slate and tile roofs. Although it was not possible to provide for through traffic, pedestrian accesses were established to link the development with the village.
