Consumer Code

The Consumer Code for Home Builders (“the Code”) was developed by the home-building industry to make the home buying process fairer and more transparent for purchasers. It is in place to ensure we deliver a superb level of service no matter where you are on your home buying journey.

What is the consumer code?

Purchasing a brand-new home is an exciting prospect. However, given that it is one of the largest investments you will ever make, it is important we keep you well-informed of the process, what you are purchasing, and the available support in case of problems.

The Code's primary objective is to help you understand the level of service you can expect from your builder, keep you informed about your purchase, and educate you about your consumer rights before and after you move in. Should any issues arise, a free dispute resolution service is available to deal with problems related to the Code.

The Code covers most homes built in the UK by Home Builders who register with the UK’s main new Home Warranty Bodies. CG Fry & Son are registered with NHBC and you will be given details of the scheme with your reservation agreement.
