To the south of the A35 between Bridport & Dorchester Litton Cheney is located in the Bride Valley an area designated as being one of outstanding natural beauty.

It is a picturesque village and for the most part is made up of mellow stone cottages and houses with small streams running beside the village streets; there is a church, village primary school and public house together with new community hall.

The beautiful World Heritage coastline with chesil beach is a few miles drive away at Burton Bradstock and West Bexington. The market town of Bridport is about 6 miles to the west and provides a good range of business, professional and shopping facilities together with a twice weekly market and Leisure Centre/swimming pool. The harbour resort of West Bay has an excellent 18 hole golf course.  Dorchester the County town of Dorset is about 10 miles to the east with a main line rail service to London, Waterloo. The centres of Weymouth and Yeovil are also within easy driving distance.
