Scholars Walk, Hawkchurch
Hawkchurch is a pretty village just outside the market town of Axminster once known as the village of roses when Reverend John Going went to the trouble of planting rose trees on the walls of every cottage.
There is the usual configuration of a Devon village, where St John the Baptist church can be seen directly through the village inn window. The church has undergone major reconstruction in the 1850s, the tower is from the early Tudor period and there are some interesting Norman corbels and Romaneque carvings. Hawkchurch is approximately 5 miles from Axminster with its railway station giving connection to the London Waterloo line. Nearby Ilminster gives access to A303 and Taunton approximately 20 miles away for the M5.
Please note that all three 4 bedroom detached houses have now sold.
