Jurston Farm, Wellington
Our new development at Jurston Farm will be our only current development in Somerset. The first phase of new homes will consist of two, three and four bedroom houses offering a home to suit all needs.
Our construction team started the infrastructure in 2017, which should deliver new homes for our customers to move into in Summer 2018.
Wellington is a small industrial town situated just off junction 26 of the M5 motorway and 7 miles to the south west of Taunton. The town was known as Weolingtun in the Anglo-Saxon period and had changed its name to Walintone by the time of the Domesday Book of 1086. During the medieval period it grew as a centre for trade on the road from Bristol to Exeter and in the 1700s the town's importance increased as it became a centre for clothmaking across Somerset and Devon.
Many visitors and travellers pass the spotlit Wellington monument on the top of the hill overlooking the town which was built to celebrate the Duke of Wellington’s victory at the Battle of Waterloo.
Wellington was also the home of Fox, Fowler and Co which was the last commercial bank permitted to print their own banknotes in England and Wales.
