C G Fry homes – greener by design
At C G Fry & Son we are committed to meeting Government targets to be carbon neutral by 2016. We have a clear and positive approach to sustainability and fully support the Government’s Code for Sustainable Homes which was launched in 2006. Energy efficiency, cutting carbon emmissions and the use of sustainable materials is fundemental to the way we design and build our homes which all achieve energy performance ratings of at least a B (based on 4 years data). Our new homes can generate over 60 per cent less CO2 emissions than older homes.
Saving you money on utility bills
Through modern building techniques our new properties on average save £600 per year when compared with period properties. This is achieved through many areas - high levels of wall, floor and loft insulation and the use of efficient air to water heat pumps.
Low energy light fittings
Low energy light fittings and EU efficiency rated white goods are used throughout our homes.
Warmth and security
On average our homes exceed current Best Practice for Airtightness, resulting in lower heat loss. Advanced, low maintenance double glazing and secure locking systems also provide security.
Reduced noise pollution
Strict sound insulation levels are achieved in the building construction, providing home owners with minimal disturbance from neighbours or traffic.
Low flow fittings reduce water consumption while not compromising on performance.
Responsible sourcing of materials
Responsible sourcing of construction materials plays a key part, with all timber coming from certified suppliers and where possible using local materials - thereby reducing transportation.
Fry developments are constructed with a range of sustainable drainage strategies such as soakaways, rainwater harvesting and permeable paving.
Our sites also focus on maintaining and enhancing the existing ecology through careful planting, landscaping and placing wildlife boxes.
Fry homes are frequently designed with extras to meet further sustainability standards such as composting bins, water butts, cycle storage and minimum daylighting levels in key family rooms.
