On top of their game! Frys’ guys celebrate

Construction managers for C G Fry & Son have bagged an amazing new collection of building industry awards – with five of them in the honours.

The company’s contracts manager, Chris Chapman, was announced this year’s gold medal winner in the national Site Management Awards of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Meanwhile, in the Pride In The Job Awards staged by the National House Building Council, site managers Steve Carr and Jason Hockey both picked up Seal Of Excellence awards – awarded to only to a handful of site bosses in each category.

Jason went on to be announced regional winner in the category for medium-sized firms, and will now represent the South West in the NHBC national awards in the New Year.

The awards tally was swelled by site manager Nathan Pyett’s recent bronze medal in the Considerate Constructors national site awards, and a Building Safety Group Award for Mike Westcott, who was declared the group’s overall winner in its South Central region.

In the Pride In The Job competition Steve Carr received his award for his work at Poundbury, Dorchester, and Jason for Fry’s development of new homes at Old Kelways, near Langport in Somerset.

It is a Pride In The Job double for Frys, because Steve Carr was South West winner last year.

Managing director Philip Fry said: “This is a great achievement for five individuals and fantastic for C G Fry & Son.

“Our company has always taken a pride in its reputation for quality, and this is recognition, from a number of different industry bodies, of the effort we put into getting things right. “That takes teamwork, but it starts with the managers, and it is marvellous to see our our guys bringing in the awards yet again.”
