CG Fry and Son enhances an outdoor learning area through tree planting.

In the last week of the summer term as part of CG Fry & Son’s ongoing commitment to building a greener future and engaging with local communities we have donated a number of new trees to Chickerell Primary School. These trees will mark an exciting step in enhancing the schools outdoor learning environment.

Miss Harris, Headteacher stated; “These trees will not only support local biodiversity and improve the natural beauty of our site, but we also have exciting plans for how they’ll be used in the future. As the trees grow and mature, we hope to develop a low ropes course among them—offering children a new and adventurous experience as part of our Forest Schools programme. This will add a unique, physical challenge to our outdoor learning, encouraging teamwork, confidence, and resilience.

In addition, several of the trees will provide much-needed shade to our newly created class seating area. This will allow pupils to enjoy even more lessons outdoors, something we know they absolutely love.

This initiative is part of the schools ongoing commitment to making learning inspiring, inclusive, and connected to the world around us.”

Not only does it help create a superb learning environment but contributes to looking after our environment”

Children from the school assisted with the planting. Leo in Year 5 said “I’m looking forward to seeing how much they have grown when I come back in September. It’s nice to know I’m helping nature by doing this too.”
