Housebuilder CG Fry & Son is celebrating the announcement of its Poundbury Site Manager as Supreme Award Winner of the prestigious NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.
Steve Walker, who has been the Site Manager at Poundbury for CG Fry & Son for the last 25 years, was chosen for his exceptional contribution in creating homes of outstanding quality at the prestigious Duchy of Cornwall development in West Dorset.
Winning a Pride in the Job Supreme Award is regarded as the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive. This year’s winners were selected from more than 16,000 sites across the UK.
The rigorous judging process started back in July 2017, with regional awards culminating in the coveted Supreme Awards. The winners and runners-up have shown true dedication and demonstrated their hard work and tenacity to ensure people benefit from the highest quality new build homes.
Each site manager is assessed across 37 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place.
Kevin Murch, Construction Director for CG Fry & Son commented, “We are thrilled with Steve’s accomplishment. He is a six-times winner of the Regional Awards, so to see him win the Supreme Award for 2018 for the third time is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the quality of work being produced at Poundbury.”
“As a company we are delighted to be achieving our main aim in delivering quality homes to our purchasers.”
Steve Walker said, “I am incredibly proud to have been chosen as a Supreme Award winner. It’s thanks in no small part to the team at Poundbury whose hard work has made this possible.”
