First residents at Nansledan development relishing new opportunity

A Newquay family has found their perfect family home at CG Fry & Son’s Nansledan.

Justin Randell, a 43-year-old retail manager, and his wife Danielle, 35, a dental nurse, are the first residents to move into the development.

The family was previously renting a three-bedroom home in Treloggan, Newquay but were tired of seeing their hard-earned money being spent on rent.

So, with the couple’s two children Jayden, 11, and Presley, 5, growing up fast, the Randells decided that the time was right to move into a home they could call their own.

The family took advantage of the Help to Buy scheme to move in to a four-bedroom, three-storey home at CG Fry & Son’s Nansledan development.

Justin said: “Initially we looked at pre-owned homes but there wasn’t anything on the market that appealed to us and we didn’t want to spend thousands of pounds on refurbishing a home after buying it.

“Once we looked in to the homes at Nansledan we quickly decided that was where we wanted to be. The Help to Buy scheme allowed us to stretch our money that bit further and we got the home we were looking for.

“We really bought in to the community that CG Fry is building here. The team has done a great job of laying down the foundations for that and we believe the development will be a fantastic place for our children to grow up.

“This is more than just a house, it’s an investment in our future. We’re very excited about our new life here.”

Under the Help to Buy scheme, buyers can secure a new home with just a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is paid off as an equity loan, which remains interest free for five years.

Nansledan is a 540-acre extension to the coastal town of Newquay on the north coast of Cornwall and is being led by the Duchy of Cornwall.

Justin was full of praise for the work the developer has put into Nansledan, from the overall build quality to the development’s distinctive look.

Justin said: “CG Fry & Son was fantastic; our move went very smoothly and I would like to say a big thanks to Marcus in the sales office.

“We were very impressed with the overall build quality of the homes here and the open-plan layout. It’s a fantastic development and we’re looking forward to meeting our neighbours soon.”

CG Fry & Son is building a collection of three and four-bedroom homes at Nansledan, which have been built to reflect the culture and identity of Cornwall.
