Back to NewsFour site managers from CG Fry & Son have won prestigious NHBC (National House Building Council) Pride in the Job 2026 Quality Awards, which recognise the best site managers in the UK.
The following were singled out today by the NHBC for building homes of exceptional quality:
· Alex Reid-Johnson for Welborne, near Fareham, Hampshire
· Grant Gibson for Jurston Fields, Wellington, Somerset
· Brendan Leech for Nansledan, Newquay, Cornwall
· Steve Walker for Poundbury, Dorchester, Dorset
Widely considered the ‘Oscars’ of the house-building industry, Pride in the Job celebrates site managers’ dedication to raising standards, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence. Judging is rigorous, with assessment across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
Thousands of inspections have taken place to determine the 450 winners from a field of 7,500 sites, representing the top six per cent of UK site managers.

The Quality Award winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2027.
