Over 350,000 people across the UK have now used the government’s Help to Buy schemes to help them cross the threshold and buy their own home, according to recently released figures.
In Cornwall, 1,154 buyers have taken advantage of the scheme, but many of those who are looking to move up the property ladder remain unaware that Help to Buy is not just for First Time Buyers.

As properties below a threshold of £600,000 qualify for the Help to Buy scheme, prospective buyers now have a wide range of options, whether they are looking to take a step onto the property ladder or move into a larger home.
Under the Help to Buy scheme buyers can secure their home with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is paid off by the Government as an equity loan, which remains interest free for five years. With properties priced below £600,000 eligible, the townhouses can be purchased under the scheme.
